A teacher prisoned for naming a bear Mohammed

A British teacher in Sudan, Gillian Gibbons, was arrested by Sudanese police on Monday (November 26) for blasphemy. Gibbons was accused of insulting the Muslim prophet for allowing young children (6-year olds)to name a teddy bear Mohammed. The penalty of the said crime carries the death sentence for Muslims in Sudan, where Islamic Sharia law is enforced. But a non-Muslim could face a maximum penalty of lashes, prison, a fine and deportation if found guilty.

Travel with Holiday Hypermarket

I'm really thankful to God for giving me the chance to see parts of the world as I started working here in Europe. And I owed my hostfamily in Denmark a lot for financing most of my travels for free. from PR3 to PR2

About a month ago, I was so happy because the PR of this blog has climbed from 0 to 3. I was really very happy since I already got a lot of opps from PPP. But then, the happiness didn't last for long. Just last week, I checked the status of my blogs at PPP and was so shocked that all my blogs got a decreasing PR. My 3 blogs had a 4,3,3 PR standing, but then all 3 blogs got a uniform PR of 2 now. And I really don't know why.

I read in Jaycee's blog about the PR decrease controversy and found out that most bloggers making business with PPP are the most affected, while those in business with Google (Adsense and Adwords) are not affected. Ohhh my, this is really unfair!!!

I'm going to have more readings about this issue to understand more. How many out there are affected with this PR controversy?

"In an interview to be screened by US television show "Entertainment Tonight" on Tuesday, Clooney said he sympathized with stars such as Britney Spears, citing a case where the singer ran a red-light while trailed by photographers.

"You look at the footage of Britney running the red light -- there's eight guys with cameras at night in the middle of the street. There are no rules now," the "Ocean's 13" and "Syriana" star told an interviewer.

"It's getting to a point where people that are not involved are getting hurt."

A $1M painting from the trash

The photo in the right is a photo of a painting found in the trash by Elizabeth Gibson in 2003 and it was purchased for $1,049,000 by an unidentified private American collector bidding by phone at Sotheby's Latin American Art sale on November 20, Tuesday. Gibson has received a $15,000 reward for turning in "Tres Personajes" and also will get a percentage of the sale price

A talking robot

SWowww, what a nice invention from Japan once more! Japanese really keeps on inventing amazing things.

The robot in the picture is another invention from Hitachi Ltd. It was revealed yesterday (November 21) and it's a new lightweight robot that can talk while easily scooting around people. The robot is named as "EMIEW 2" and it stands 80 centimeters (31.5 inches) tall and weighs 13 kilogrammes (29 pounds). The said robot could be used to bring drinks or paperwork or guide guests at an office.

Feeling good after exercising!

Yesss!!I'm really feeling good right now after almost an hours of jogging and dancing here in my apartment. I've been doing this for the 2nd time this week and I'm really sweating a lot!I'm soo glad that I'm able to battle my laziness atlast. I've done some exercises before, but it was stopped due to busy schedule and laziness, but then, I was really pushed to do it again due to an alarming fact....the bil2x is growing bigger everyday and I just can't take it anymore..Scared to grow like a balloon without doing something, when I know that there's something that can still be done to avoid it..

Hopefully, another exercise session tomorrow.

Uncontrolled e-waste in China

I just read an alarming news about e-waste in China. According to the news, "For five years, environmentalists and the media have highlighted the danger to Chinese workers who dismantle much of the world's junked electronics. Yet a visit to this southeastern Chinese town regarded as the heartland of "e-waste" disposal shows little has improved. In fact, the problem is growing worse because of China's own contribution."

China is said to be producing more than 1 million tons of e-waste each year, said Jamie Choi, a toxics campaigner with Greenpeace China in Beijing. That adds up to roughly 5 million television sets, 4 million fridges, 5 million washing machines, 10 million mobile phones and 5 million personal computers.

Don't say "ho,ho,ho" Santa

I just read a funny news about Santa and it really tickles me! I read about this news on Friday but then, I was not able to finished my post because I went to the city in a hurry to accompany my friend to her "kuskos". And here I am finishing this news because I really want to share it with you and try to ask about your opinions about it.

Santas across Sydney, Australia are banned to say their traditional greeting of "ho, ho, ho" and instructed to say "ha, ha, ha" instead. The reecruitment firm Westaff, which supplies hundreds of Santas across the country, told its trainees that the "ho ho ho" phrase could frighten children and could even be derogatory to women because it's too close to the American slang for prostitute.

However, the ban didn't tickle the Santas at all. A lot of the Santas have already resigned because they don't like the ban at all. A lot of people says "Just leave Santa alone" in connection to this news.

How about you? What's your stand about this? For me, I'll prefer Santa saying ho,ho,ho than ha,ha,ha because it's one of Santa's trademark. And children might be confused if Santa start's saying "ha,ha,ha" instead of the usual "ho,ho,ho".

Got access to this blog atlast!

Atlast, I'm able to access this blog and my other domain blog. About 2 hours ago, I've been accessing this blog because I have an opp that expires today. But to my dismay, I just can't open it and the other domain blog, but got accessed on my blogspot blogs. I just can't figure out what happens. I checked on PPP and several opps were available for me, but they require own domain, so I tried accessing again, but failed. Got an opp in my blogspot, but then, just can't access the site where the details of the products can be found, so I was not able to do it. I'm really pissed off and decided to sleep. But before finally dozing off, I tried to access this blog once more and thanks goodness and it's already available. Hmmmm, the wide world web is trying my patience..hehehe.

I just read an article from Yahoo News about the downside of optimism. Hmmm, I never thought that optimism has a downside. My 26th Birthday

A busy, yet fun weekend

Hi everyone!I'm so sorry for the long absence here. I was not able to blog during the weekend because I was really very busy. I had a babysit on friday night and I woke up early and went to Ate Bren's place to prepare for the saturday party..Yes, I hosted a party for my friends at Ate Bren's place on Saturday from my 26th birthday! Hurrahhh, thanks GOD for giving me another year in my life.

The party was successful and I only had few friends, but we still had fun. After eating, we were singing our hearts out with the magic sing. We also had some wine : tequilla, a bottle of champagne and 2 bottles of red wine. Whoahhh some of my friends got drunk and thanks heavens and I stayed sober the entire night. And before the clock hits 12 midnight, we went to the disco. We really had fun and we finally went back to Ate Bren's place at 4 in the morning.

Sunday, I attended the 6pm Mass at St. Olav and then went home directly. Today is also the birthday of the eldest daughter of my employers. They had a family gathering so I didn't make dinner for them. I had my off early and went to the city to accompany my friend from Stavanger in touring around. And I just came back here in my apartment, about an hour ago. Whoahhhh what a busy weekend I had and I really missed my blogs already, so I'm going to double time.huhuhuh

Tallest man in the US

George Bell, a 7 foot, 8 inches tall Norfolk sheriff's deputy is being recognized on Thursday (November 8) as the tallest man in the US by Guinness World Records. I just hope I had some of his height because I want to be tall. And until now I'm still hoping for my height to increase as time goes by,hehehe.

By the way, Bell wears size-19 shoes, pants with a 43-inch inseam and shirts with 45-inch sleeves. According to the news, "Bell hit 5-foot-4 at age 9. In middle school, he topped 6 feet. By the end of high school, he was 7-foot-6. He played basketball until, at 30, he lost interest in the sport and switched to law enforcement".

Don't send me those mails

My male employer is always complaining everyday about the bulk of mails that's inside the mailbox everyday. Most are advertisement of different products from companies and he don't want to receive them anymore. He's growling that if they'll only stop sending mails and stop making flyers, they'll be saving a lot of trees. That's how concern he is about the environment.

How about you?are you receiving a lot of useless advertisements and flyers in your mailboxes? I think we have to do something about it. Maybe we can call the companies who are making them and tell them that we don't want to receive advertisements and flyers anymore. That's what my employer is thinking too and I'm just waiting for him to do the move because right now, he's very busy with work.

Windy day

Today is also very windy, just like yesterday. But good thing and it's not raining today.Yesterday, it did while I was taking the youngest child to the kindergarten. I am waiting for my female employer to go to work so I can start cleaning the house.

I'm really impressed with the new advertisement of Vaseline lotion. I just visited Youtube a while ago, and I saw the "Sea of Skin" video there because it's one of their latest featured videos. a new pig species found

Marc van Roosmalen, a Dutch sicentist believed that he has discovered a new species of wild pig in Brazil's Amazon region.

According to the news at Yahoo, "At four feet long and 90 pounds, the pig is the latest in a string of new species that Roosmalen reported to have found since 1996. His findings were published in the Oct. 29 edition of the German scientific journal Bonner Zoologische Beitrage".

The new pig species is dubbed as Pecari maximus and he discovered the species accidentally in 2000, while searching for a new monkey species.

Wild pigs invading buildings in Eastern China

Hungry, wild pigs in eastern China have invaded buildings and terrified tourists on November 6 (Tuesday).

According to the news, "The wild hogs have made incursions into hospital dormitories, college kitchens and scenic spots in Hangzhou, capital of China's Zhejiang province, 200 kilometres (124 miles) from Shanghai".

The pigs' sudden boldness might probably be due to the scarcity of food in the wild during the winter, the report said.

8-limbed Indian girl was operated

Lakshmi is a 2-year old Indian girl born with 4 arms and 4 legs. She was born joined at the pelvis to a "parasitic twin" that stopped developing in her mother's womb. The surviving fetus absorbed the limbs, kidneys and other body parts of the undeveloped fetus. Accroding to Dr. Doug Miniati, a pediatric surgeon at the University of California, San Francisco, the situation is a very rare occurrence.

The 2-year old girl was operated in Sparsh Hospital in Bangalore, India and thanks heavens and the doctors have been succesful in performing a grueling 24-hour operation (November 7, Wednesday) of removing the 2 extra arms and 2 legs on Lakshmi. The surgery was performed by a team of more that 30 surgeons led by Dr. Sharan Patil.

Doctors of Sparsh Hospital in Bangalore performed the surgery for free because the girl's family could not afford the medical bills and the successful surgery has an estimated cost of $625,000.

Hmmm, sounds interesting! I just read on Yahoo about a new discovery made by scientists. Astronomers reported yesterday (Tuesday, November 6) that anew planet was discovered orbiting a sun-like star 41 light years away, making it the first known planetary quintet outside our solar system.

The newfound planet joins four others circling the nearby star 55 Cancri in the constellation Cancer. Although it resides in the star's so-called habitable zone, a place where liquid water and mild temperatures should exist, it is more like Saturn than Earth and therefore not likely to support life.

What to eat is really a problem for me everytime I'm off from work early. I don't have a lot of stuff in the fridge and I'm too lazy in preparing my own dinner.huhuhu. When I'm working in my employer's place, I always prepare dinner for them and I ate with them too, so I don't have to prepare my own food.

Though I love to be off late and be relaxed at time, but this is the downside of it. The hassle of preparing my own food and thinking what to eat. :)

Another lonely day

I had an early off from work today because my female employer is just home. I walk the eldest child to school and I tidy up the house afterwards. Wowwwww, Xoom is indeed very efficient! and don't get me wrong, this is not a paid post. I just want to share with you my own experience with them. Hurrah!!! I'm really happy because the right side bar of my blog is already in it's proper place!Yeheyyyyyyy. I deleted the MyBlogLog code that I integrate in the HTML code of this blog and also deleted the page element that displays the visitors, as advised by Ate Nitz. But after the deletion, there was no changes. The right side bar lists are still in the bottom. So I decided to blog on my other blogs and just leave the problem unsolved.

After blogging on my other blogs, I visited ths blog once more and hurrah!! the right side bar "problem" is already fixed! Everything is already in it's proper place! THanks a lot Ate Nitz. I think, the changes were not applied immediately, that's why I didn't saw it right after the deletion.

The urge to get a loan

Lfe has been very tough this days and more expenses are sprouting from nowhere! I'm financially drained this month as I sent all my money to my Mother's account for my brother's future flight to Denmark. Hopefully, his visa will be coming in few days and he'll be here soon. Thanks GOD. My cousin (1st cousin of Mama) is about to receive her contract, but she's not ready with her passport yet because she encountered problems regarding her baptismal. Now, she's finally ready, but she don't have enough money for the processing. Hmmmm, another problem! a new domain name and a wasted PR

I immediately checked it on PRChecker and true enough, the PR has turned to 0.huhuhuhu..soo sad....Ate Nitz told me that I should have bought a domain name before when the blog was still very new, to avoid the situation. Another lesson learned. I'll just do my best to gain back the wasted PR.

what's wrong with my blog?

Hi everyone, I hope you had a nice weekend coz I had a great one. But before I left for the weekend on friday, I was already aware that there's something wrong with my blog. The page elements on the right side were already dislocated to the bottom. Actually, I already noticed it on Thursday evening, right after I installed the code for MyBlog Comunity, the one used in tracing my visitors. I tried to fix it, but I failed. Until on Friday, I already received notices from my blogger friends about it.

I tried to put the page elements on the right side again, but it just wouldn't move. I think, I did something in the HTML code that causes the change..Do you have any idea what was it? Please help me coz I really don't know how to fix it.

The only idea I have in mind right now is to re install the template and I don't want to do it because it takes a lot of time,huhhuuh. I hope someone could help me on how to fix it..Your advices will be greatly appreciated.

Bye bye Washoe

Washoe's a female chimpanzee and believed to be the first non-human to acquire human language. And now it's reported that she has has died of natural causes at the research institute where she was kept.

According to the news, Washoe first learned a bit of American Sign Language in a research project in Nevada and had been living on Central Washington University's Ellensburg campus since 1980. She had a vocabulary of about 250 words. Wowww that's really amazing!

A chruch moved in Germany

Whoahhhhhh I just saw the video in Yahoo about a Lutheran church in Germany that was moved entirely into another place, many miles away. Ohhh my that was a very big work! I just can't imagine if it's possible to do it in the Philippines. I mean we need very huge equipments and latest technology for that..I'm not sure though if the news is very recent.
